About the Role

The Software Engineer (New Grad) role at Cisco’s Security Business Group (SBG) is a perfect blend of innovation, technology, and growth. You will be working on Cisco’s Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) and contributing to building firewall management products that secure the digital world.

Cisco’s NGFW combines the powerful Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and Firewall Management Center (FMC) to provide top-notch security for customers across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. These solutions are not only recognized in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Network Firewalls, but they also ensure that customers have the flexibility to adapt as their security needs evolve.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of the Agile team, you will work on the entire lifecycle of the product, from architecture, design, development, to testing. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Designing and developing scalable, multi-threaded applications.
Building secure, high-performance systems for next-generation firewall management products.
Collaborating with a team of talented engineers to bring innovative ideas to life.
Writing efficient and optimized code in Java, React, and Angular frameworks.
Developing and testing REST APIs and working on microservice architecture.
Staying updated with the latest trends in cloud security, containerization, and virtualization.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

0-3 years of experience in software development.
Strong expertise in Java, React, Angular, and web development technologies.
Hands-on experience with REST APIs, microservices, and automation testing.
Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and multi-threaded application development.
Proficiency in tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Git.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Cisco Secure Firewall solutions or similar enterprise-grade platforms.
Knowledge of cloud technologies, virtualization, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
A solid understanding of high-performance computing and low-latency systems.
