As a Data Analytics Analyst at American Express, you will lead analytics initiatives to drive strategies beyond traditional card services, including cross-selling and customer engagement efforts. You will support various U.S. Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) strategic growth priorities and provide Global Commercial Services (GCS) product partners with actionable, insightful analytical solutions to assist leadership in evaluating and driving business performance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead analytics to drive beyond-the-card strategies, including cross-sell and engagement initiatives.
Support multiple U.S. SME strategic growth priorities such as BLOC, BCA, Blueprint, and AP Automation.
Provide GCS product partners with actionable, insightful analytical solutions to assist leadership in evaluating and driving business performance.
Collaborate with functional leaders, Strategic Business Partners, and senior leaders to identify opportunities for enhanced customer engagement and revenue growth.
Communicate effectively to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignment.
Resolve issues, identify opportunities, define success metrics, and drive automation and refinement of analytical frameworks.
Challenge the status quo with innovative thinking to generate insights, alternatives, and opportunities for business success.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Economics.
Technical Skills:
- Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to apply quantitative methods and business acumen to drive results.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL and Python; experience with Big Data programming is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Ability to work independently and across a matrix organization, collaborating with business partners, functional owners, technology teams, and external vendors.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects through collaboration across teams and geographies.
